RESIDENTS had a chance to look at plans for a new 25m swimming pool.
The new six-lane pool will be added onto the existing leisure pool at Wavelengths, Giffin Street, Deptford.
Lewisham Council is in negotiations with contractor Parkwood Leisure Ltd to build the pool.
New changing rooms and a reception area are also planned.
A planning application for the pool has already been submitted.
The council hopes to conclude negotiations by the end of November.
Building work on the pool could start in January next year and be completed by June 2008.
The main pool will continue to operate as normal, apart from a short period at the beginning and end of the construction work.
Residents were invited to see the plans at an open evening held at Wavelengths.
