TROOPS will march and shops will be offering special deals to celebrate the opening of a new square and help Woolwich bounce back from the riots.
On October 8, the Kings Troop and Princess of Wales Royal Regiment will march from Woolwich Barracks to the new General Gordon Square as part of its official opening.
It will conclude Woolwich Back in Business Week, where stores will offer one-off deals including free coffee tasting at Starbucks, food sampling in Nando’s and discounts in clothing stores like New Look.
The square will host a stage with music, entertainment and stalls.
Greenwich Council's cabinet member for regeneration Councillor Denise Hyland said: “Woolwich is most definitely on the up and even in the face of the recent challenges we have new businesses opening in the borough.
"This week is a great way for the whole community to come together to celebrate what we have here in Greenwich".
The week runs from October 3 to October 8. To get your business involved call Greenwich Council's business support unit on 020 8921 8682 or email business@greenwich.gov.uk
