POLICE want to trace a man accused of attacking two police cars - including pelting one with concrete slabs or bricks - during the riots.
CCTV footage from 8pm on August 8 shows a black man wearing a dark hooded top with a blue and green Adidas logo attacking a police car in Beresford Square, Woolwich.
Footage then appears to show the same man throwing objects from a nearby building site at an unmarked police car containing five officers, before smashing the driver’s window.
The unmarked car’s driver was left with cuts to his face.
Borough Commander Detective Chief Superintendent Richard Wood said: “The officers who attended Beresford Square following disorder in Woolwich were faced with extreme violence.
"The man in the footage could have seriously hurt or even killed one of the officers in the vehicle.
Anyone with information should call Greenwich police on 020 8284 9449 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
