A MOBILE screen will be showing CCTV images of people suspected of rioting and looting in the borough.
For the next week the screen, similar to one recently used in Woolwich, will be moved around Lewisham, beaming out images of suspected offenders.
Tomorrow morning it arrives in Lewisham High Street outside the Clocktower before moving to Deptford High Street in the afternoon.
On Thursday it starts at Sydenham High Street and then goes to New Cross Gate.
The following day it reaches Catford Broadway, then Sydenham train station, before hitting New Cross Road Sainsbury’s the next morning.
On Sunday it comes to Rushey Green in the morning, then Lewisham Way in the afternoon and Blackheath Village and Lewisham Hospital on Monday.
Finally it returns to Sydenham on Tuesday and will be at either Lewisham town centre or the train station in the afternoon.
Detective Superintendent Si Cunneen said: "There is an overwhelming response by businesses and members of the public that we identify the people involved in the disorder in Lewisham and bring them to justice.
“We have already seen from the other boroughs that have used this approach that it works.
“This is just one of a number of methods of identifying those individuals who took it upon themselves to openly commit offences against local businesses, residential premises, stole property, caused criminal damage and committed assaults.”
If you have any information contact Lewisham police on 020 8284 8339 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
