Now first off I don't care if Mr what-ever-his-name-was fired the first shot or, if he indeed fired ANY shot whatsoever.
If you go out there armed with a gun of ANY type, be it a real gun, a fake gun, a starting pistol or whatever and you pull that gun in a manner designed to be intimidatory and to convey the impression that it's 1) real and 2) you're going to use it then if you get shot and/or killed by a police firearms officer then tough!
That to my mind is the end of that story.
Now we move on to the protest over this blokes death.
That was civilised and peaceful until a group of moronic, violence-obsessed pillocks decided that they were going to go head-to-head with the police and society in general.
At this point I am prepared to bet that if you asked 99% of the people involved in the subsequent London (and country) wide anarchy what it was all about you'd probably have been told some drivel like "Well is da govermints fault innit? Dey owe me cos I aint got a job and I deserve everyfink you'se all got dunn-I ?"
Well no you don't deserve everything that the rest of use who study, learn, work and strive to own - you actually deserve sweet 'F' all.
The only right you have is to be educated and then to try to get a job - period.
It isn't your right to steal.
It isn't your right to take.
It isn't your right to smash up other peoples property.
It isn't your right to beat up people who you regard as rich.
It isn't your right to ruin other people lives.
It isn't your right to set fire to peoples cars, houses or shops.
The only other right you do have (much to my annoyance) is to that of a fair trial.
Personally my view is that if you're seen by the police committing a riotous act of violence, theft or damage then you should be shot on sight.
I remember seeing one of my most favourite pieces of ' instant justice' being meted out by an American cop to a looter during the Los Angeles riots some years back.
The cop saw a guy reach in through a store window and steal a bike. The thief climbed on it and started off down the street. You saw the cop size the situation up, take off after the guy at a sprint and then shoulder barge the guy and the bike straight through a plate glass window.
Was the thief injured? Who gives a damn? The copper was ok though as he hauled the sorry ar*ed thief out of the window and dragged him off down the street.
That's Justice!
So lets hope that if these small brained halfwits kick off again that some of our coppers - preferably all of them - adopt a far stronger attitude with the scum wrecking our lives, our cities and our country!
And as for putting in the army? Oh yes - with live rounds preferably.
