PUPILS and staff bid a fond farewell to three people who worked at their school for a total of 91 years.

Vice principal Simon Price-Whittle has worked at Erith School for an incredible 38 years.

He retired at the same time as assistant principal Ian Woods, who has given 36 years service, and comparative beginner Kelvin Paterson - who only lasted 17 years.

But even their long-serving contributions cannot hold a candle to support worker Giovanna Taylor - who has worked at the school for half a century and is still going strong.

Principal Mrs Julie Turner said: “The impact that these gentlemen have had on the developments and improvements we have seen at Erith School over the past four decades is immeasurable and they will be very much missed by staff and pupils alike”.
