AN exhibition of plans for the proposed new Bexley College today at Erith library has had to be relocated at the last minute because of a theft of electricity cables.
Anyone wishing to visit the exhibition, due to run from 1.30pm to 6pm today, will find it outside the Wilkinson store in the Riverside Shopping Centre.
The college has signposted the change of venue.
Electrical power to the library and the flats above in Park Spring Court, was interrupted in the early hours of this morning (July 22) when thieves stole some of the electrical cabling from the building.
UK Power Networks says it isolated the power supply at about 9.30am so that contractors from Hexagon Housing which owns the flats, could repair the damage.
A water supply was reconnected to the building this afternoon and it is hoped to have the electricity supply restored by about 10pm tonight.
The exhibition will also be on view tomorrow (July 23) at Bexley College in Tower Road, Erith, from 10am until 2pm .
