A MAN will appear at Bexley Magistrates Court on July 25 in connection with a road rage attack on a cyclist in Bexley Village.
John Nicholls, aged 29, of Edwin Road, Dartford, was charged today, (July 14) with common assault in Bexley Village High Street on May 15.
Mr Nicholls had attended a police station this morning, where he was arrested and then charged.
He was later released on police bail.
Mr Nicholls' arrest comes just a couple of days after video footage of the incident, in which a cyclist was knocked off his bike, spread across the internet and was picked up by the news media.
The cyclist Simon Page, from Guildford, was with a group of friends riding from Dover to London, when he was involved in an altercation with a car driver in Bexley Village High Street.
A fellow cyclist filmed the incident on his helmet camera and after Bexley police failed to trace his attacker, Mr Page posted it on the cycling website road.cc in the hope of identifying the man.
