AIR cadets found their water wings at a swimming gala.
Seven members from the 1903 (Penge) Air Training Corps Squadron swam against 36 other squadrons from across Kent in an annual competition.
They were pleased with their 10th-place finish because they do not have a senior girls' team.
Their successes included Caroline Albrecht, of Sheringham Road, Anerley, who won two gold medals, in the breast stroke and individual medley races.
The 15-year-old could now represent the Air Cadets of Kent against cadets across south east England.
Commanding officer Flight Lieutenant John Wohlgemuth said: "I was delighted. It was good to see parents cheering from the gallery so the cadets had a really enjoyable time and the support was great."
