A PUPIL from Bromley joined 100 of the country's most gifted and talented children for a three-week residential summer school at Canterbury Christ Church University.
Sixteen-year-old Robert Auld from Kemnal Technology School, Sevenoakes Way, Sidcup, studied anthropology at the summer school.
Canterbury Christ Church University is the only venue in the south east to offer the facility for 11 to 16 year olds, on behalf of the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth.
The programme, an initiative of the Department of Educational and Skills, offered exciting activities to students from different backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to experience university life.
Subjects studied included: migration, integration, diversity and identity, creative arts, anthropology, sport science and totally wild science.
As well as lectures and seminars, the pupils took part in lively and varied events during the weekends and evenings.
Robert said: "My course was extremely interesting and I had a huge amount of fun. I made new friends from different schools."
