PENSIONERS are being urged to claim their winter fuel payments in time for Christmas.
Labour councillor for Penge, John Getgood, issued the reminder new applications made by September 22 will receive their payment before Christmas.
Cllr Getgood said: "I want to make sure those who are entitled to receive either a £200 or £300 fuel payment get their application in as soon as possible to guarantee help with their bills this side of Christmas."
Anyone aged over 60 on or before September 24 may qualify for a winter fuel payment of £200 per household.
Households with someone aged 80 or over could get a payment of £300. Call 08459 151515.
