CHURCH leaders and worshippers have organised a 24/7 prayer marathon.
The event will see a total of eight Christian churches across Eltham taking part in continuous prayer.
A series of themed workshops will take place at the St Mary's Community Centre in Eltham High Street from September 11 to September 16.
Themes of the workshops range from prayer in the home and at work to praying in times of stress and praying to grow stronger.
The community centre will provide the venue for the activities during the day, while churches across Eltham will hold overnight prayer vigils.
Businesses and community groups are also behind the week-long event.
Marks & Spencer, the Electriq Cafe and the Cancer Research UK shop in Eltham High Street will have "prayer points" installed.
Reverend Gary Serra di Migni, of Eltham Park Baptist Church, Glenure Road, said: "We hope people who wouldn't normally walk into church will go into St Mary's Community Centre and ask for prayer for themselves, their families and their community."
