A FATHER-OF-TWO caught with 27 Ecstasy tablets he claimed to have found in a nightclub has been fined £250.
Benjamin Adams, of Earlswood Street, Greenwich, was found with the small bag of pills at the Pool Bar Club in Crown Hill, Croydon, on February 4.
The 25-year-old was arrested and claimed he had picked up the bag, containing drugs with a street value of £108, from the floor of the club's toilets.
His explanation was accepted at Croydon Crown Court on August 31, when a charge of possession of drugs with intent to supply was dropped.
Prosecutor Tara McCartney said Adams thought at first the bag contained cannabis and denied having Ecstasy with the aim of selling it on to others.
Adams pleaded guilty to one charge of possession and was fined £250 and ordered to pay £50 costs.
