A DRIVER who attacked a policewoman as he was about to be searched has had his jail sentence cut.
Thomas Wildish, of Staneway, Woolwich, was jailed for four years at Woolwich Crown Court in April after being found with drugs and pushing the officer into a lamppost on January 5.
Wildish, aged 24, had pleaded guilty to one charge of possessing drugs with intent to supply and one of assault inflicting actual bodily harm.
But at the Court of Appeal on August 31, his sentence for the assault charge was reduced from a year to six months, cutting his total sentence to three-and-a-half years.
Mr Justice Collins, sitting with Lord Justice Richards and Mr Justice Jack, noted a jail sentence was inevitable for attacking a constable but the appropriate term was six months.
