A CHURCH had a smashing time at a Greek-themed night hosted to raise funds for the building's up-keep.
St Botolph's Church, The Hill, Northfleet, was transformed into a Greek taverna for an evening.
The church opted for plate spinning instead of traditional plate smashing but indulged in Greek dancing and held a Greek-style raffle.
Volunteers prepared a five-course meal for the 56 guests.
The evening is part of a series of fundraising events held by the church throughout the year to help pay its running costs.
Past events, which bring in an average of £6,000 a year, include murder mystery nights and quiz nights.
