A NEW campaign is urging road users to consider their behaviour to others and adhere to the rules of the road.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are being encouraged to Share the Road, which is also the title of the new campaign launched by Transport for London (TfL) today.
Those who park in cycle lanes, encroach into "advance stop" boxes designed for cyclists, and even cyclists who endanger themselves and others by jumping red lights and riding on the pavement, are causing animosity on the road.
Police will be enforcing the campaign on five sites across London, either advising of infringements or issuing fixed-penalty notices.
Mayor Ken Livingstone said: "Overall London's roads are getting safer. But there is nothing more frustrating, and often dangerous, than road users who think the rules do not apply to them.
"The only way all road users can get about safely and fairly is if everyone obeys the rules of the road."
