Each year during Children's Hospice Week, Ellenor Shining Lights raises awareness of our work with terminally and seriously ill children through the sale of butterfly pins.
The butterfly is the national symbol of children's hospices as it represents the beautiful but fragile lives of the children in our care.
This year, the Ellenor ran a competition for children to design a new butterfly pin.
Hundreds of entries were received and seven-year-old Natalie Smith won the competition to have her design made into 10,000 pin badges to be sold around the county.
Look out for the pins in the Ellenor shops and other businesses in the high street. If you would like a box to sell in your own place of work, school, church or club, contact the fundraising department on 01322 221315.
The Ellenor provides specialist hospice care for children and adults living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses throughout north west Kent and Bexley.
Ellenor Shining Lights Children's Hospice at Home is the part of the Ellenor which provides specialist hospice care for more than 80 seriously ill children every year.
