NEXT weekend sees the annual chance to have a look around buildings which might otherwise be closed to the public.
Open House London takes place on September 16 and September 17 and this year 11 buildings in the borough will be open free to visitors.
Included for the first time this year is the Red House, Red House Lane, Bexleyheath, once home to William Morris and now owned by the National Trust.
Others include Christ Church, Victoria Road, Erith, which has spectacular wall paintings and a gothic bathhouse on the River Cray hidden in the garden of a semi-detached house in North Cray Road.
The Second World War bunker at Erith Hospital, Hall Place; Rose Bruford College and several of the borough's historic churches are also taking part.
The Victorian Crossness Engine House, Belvedere Road, Abbey Wood, is also included - but not the new sludge incinerator.
There will also be guided walks of Erith and Bexley Village.
