A SPORTS car passenger was killed when the vehicle he was in hit a lamp post in Bexleyheath last night (May 22).

Emergency services were called to the scene in Gravel Hill at around 8pm and firefighters cut the driver, who is believed to be in his early 20s, out of the maroon TVR.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

But the passenger could not be saved and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours while police investigated the circumstances of the incident.
