Diabetes UK Bexley Support Group's stall at the Bexley Donkey Derby on August 27 was, as usual, a great success.
The weather was warm and the crowds turned out to support this mainly charities' event.
Many people came to ask questions about diabetes and the activities of the group.
People tend to know that diabetes is on the increase and there was a significant demand for the Diabetes UK explanatory literature.
It was obvious that nowadays most people know someone who suffers from the complaint.
On the stall tombola and Play Your Cards Right raised valuable funds for the group.
The Diabetes UK Bexley Support Group offers mutual support, information and advice to people affected by diabetes - those with the condition and those who care for them - through monthly newsletters, and meetings when speakers are invited to talk to the group and answer questions on all aspects of relative healthcare.
Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month (excluding August) at the United Reformed Church, Geddes Place, Bexleyheath at 7.30pm.
New members are welcome. Phone Sheila Burston on 0208 3022446 for further information.
