A CHURCH was transformed into an art gallery with more than 200 paintings during the bank holiday weekend to help raise funds.
Cobham Church, The Street, Cobham, hosted its fifth biennial art exhibition to help raise money to restore its stained-glass windows, which could cost between £45,000 and £100,000.
Money was raised by artists selling their paintings at the exhibition and donating 15 per cent to the Friends of Cobham Church.
The paintings were displayed throughout the church and remained during services.
Friends' group secretary Alan Holland said: "We usually expect to sell between 15 per cent and 20 per cent of the pictures.
"Usually between 3,000 and 5,000 people come and view."
