A HISTORY society has re-launched and updated a book about Gravesend it first published in the 1970s.
Gravesend Historical Society, which has charitable status, raised the money through bequests and loans to print 2,600 copies of the book.
The group is charging £13 per copy to cover printing costs and to pay back the loan.
The book, entitled A Historical Walk Through Gravesend and Northfleet, was revised to take into account changes to the borough.
Secretary Sandra Soder said it took 10 years to complete the project.
She said: "We have seen it through as a baby.
"Everyone pulled together."
