DANCING on Ice star Laura Hamilton is set to leave children’s television behind after her success on the skating show.
The ice princess, from Meopham, narrowly missed out on being crowned the champion on Sunday (March 27) after losing out to Sam Attwater in the public vote.
But she says she went on the programme to raise her profile and never expected to win.
She wowed the judges every week and on Sunday achieved the only perfect score of the series with 30 points for her routine to I’m So Excited.
This impressed judge Jason Gardiner so much he took his hat off to her – and revealed the results of a much talked about hair implant in the process.
Miss Hamilton said: “I think Sam’s Bolero was really good and he deserved to take the trophy.
“All Colin [her skating partner] and I care about is that we got the highest score of the series and we were the people that Jason revealed his hair to.
“The show was an incredible experience, one of the best experiences of my life really.”
The 28-year-old quit her job at children’s channel Nickelodeon during the 12 week ITV1 series to try and land grown up TV jobs.
She has been tipped as a potential replacement for Konnie Huq on the ITV2 series the Xtra Factor.
Miss Hamilton said: “I have got job offers and hopefully you will be seeing a lot more of me on TV in the future.
“I have been sworn to secrecy about them but I will tell you when I can.”
