PUPILS from a school's gifted and talented programme have enjoyed taking part in summer activities.
The 30 Darrick Wood School pupils, selected from Year 6 and Year 7, took part in the five-day event focusing on the theme of identity.
Pupils took part in a number of activities such as using new computer software programs and discussing current affairs.
This included covering the ethical debate surrounding designer babies.
Nana Mensah, 12, said: "It's really fun and doesn't feel like normal school.
"It's been really interesting. We've learnt a lot and made lots of new friends."
The school's literacy co-ordinator, Hannah Smith, said: "The boys and girls were enthusiastic and keen and the work they achieved was of an excellent standard. It was definitely worth the trouble."
