CAMPAIGNERS fighting to save a pub from demolition will have their final say on August 31.

The Lord Hood, Creek Road, Greenwich, could be bulldozed to make way for the Bardsley Lane Development.

The pub could be demolished to put in an access route between the recreation ground backing on to Bardsley Lane and a new development of 106 homes and shops if proposals from Rock Investments get the go-ahead.

Nine people from the Save the Lord Hood action group will speak at tomorrow's Greenwich Council planning board meeting at the town hall in Wellington Street, Greenwich, to persuade members to throw out the plans.

The planning board deferred its decision on July 27 until officers had inspected the site. This took place two weeks ago.

Pub manager Val Carolan, 35, said: "We are looking forward to getting our points across to save the pub.

"We hope the board takes into account our concerns and thinks carefully about the direction in which it wants Greenwich to go."
