A FIRE which destroyed part of a pub is being treated as suspicious.
Police are currently investigating how the blaze started at the Robin Hood Pub, Croydon Road, Anerley, on Monday morning.
It completely destroyed the roof, 60 per cent of the first floor and 40 per cent of the ground floor after it started just before 2am.
Firefighters from Beckenham, Woodside, Forest Hill and West Norwood took about two-and-a-half hours to bring the fire under control.
Elmers End Road was closed between Croydon Road and Bourdon Road and Croydon Road was closed up to the junction with Oak Grove Road, Anerley, until just after 6am that morning.
The building had been unoccupied for several months and there are no reports of any casualties.
Call investigating officer Detective Sergeant Mick Sharpe on 020 8284 8859 if you have any information.
