THOUSANDS of condoms were handed out to raise awareness of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Bar and pub staff in Bromley, Biggin Hill and Mottingham handed out 9,792 condoms to customers as part of the Bromley Primary Care Trust's health development service's summer campaign.
With the slogan "Will your summer drinking stop your thinking?" the campaign aimed to remind people to use protection if they plan to have sex.
The campaign also included workshops at youth groups, aimed at youngsters aged 16 and above, to teach them about STIs.
Health development advisor Adam Lott said: "We will definitely be looking at doing a similar campaign at Christmas.
"It created awareness of the issues in an environment when people might not be thinking about it."
