PARADING, singing, rapping and martial arts were all part of a cultural feast for revellers.

The 1,000 party-goers from the Kidbrooke Estate celebrated the cultural diversity of their area at the third International Feast Day.

They gathered at Telemann Square and watched a parade with performers from the Scrap Kingdom Project, which recycles material to make musical instruments and costumes.

A display of Brazilian martial arts known as capoeira, trampolining and comedy were also part of the festivities.

The event was organised by the Community Events Group, which is made up of residents aiming to promote a sense of community within the estate.

Event co-ordinator Rosa Goncalvez said: "Despite the rain it was a fantastic day and everyone was happy having fun."
