IN SPITE of the humid weather attendance at last month's meeting was very good.
At talk was given by Dennis Worcester on The Making of Walking Sticks.
Members were surprised to learn how many different kinds there were, the different woods which can be used and the skill required to make them - especially those with ornate carved handles.
Final arrangements were made for trips to Buckingham Palace's summer opening of the State Rooms and one to Clarence House - not forgetting the week out instead of an August meeting.
The groups meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the District Scouts headquarters in Mayplace Road West, Bexleyheath, which is easily accessible by public transport and also has a car park.
Meetings start at 7.45pm and members try to be there by 7.30pm. For further information, call 01322 408749.
