IN a move to integrate young people who live either side of the borough boundary in Thamesmead, around 100 young people attended the town's first youth summit.
Because Thamesmead stretches across both Bexley and Greenwich boroughs, there are often territorial problems about attending activities organised for youngsters.
The summit was organised by Trust Thamesmead's youth forum which tries to encourage the town's young people to address the problems of youth provision in the area.
Television actress Tameka Empson and T Factor winner Byron led a debate on knives, other weapons and how to stay safe.
They also discussed gang culture, racism and bullying.
Lunch was provided and in the afternoon there were activity workshops including football, street dance, drama and DJ-ing.
