A COUPLE have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at the church they were married in 50 years ago.
Frank Maddox, 72, and his wife Sylvia, 70, were married in 1956 at the Holy Innocence Church, Strickland Way, Orpington.
A 1950s Daimler car picked them up from their home in Locksley Drive, Orpington, and took the couple to the church.
They have four children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, with another expected in October.
The renewal of vows was organised by their daughter, Wendy Brown, 49, also of Locksley Drive, Orpington, as a surprise.
She said: "We wanted to mark the day by doing something special."
After the church gathering, they went for a meal with close family and friends to celebrate the occasion.
Mr Maddox was a milkman until he retired while Mrs Maddox worked as a waitress.
