A SOCIAL services manager will appear in court after being suspended from his job.
John Baptiste, of Dukesthorpe Road, Sydenham, was arrested and suspended without pay from his job with Camden Council in February this year.
Within his role as personal finance service manager, Baptiste was responsible for bank accounts held on behalf of residents unable to look after their own finances.
His arrest came after the council noticed irregular transactions in a small number of bank accounts.
The 56-year-old is charged with three counts of dishonestly obtaining approximately £500,000 by credit transfer between May 2000 and February 2006.
Baptiste, who was released on police bail, was due to appear at Highbury Magistrates' Court yesterday.
