CYCLISTS can benefit from a new scheme about road safety.
A host of courses teaching safe riding on the road are being held for adults and children aged nine and over.
The Safe Ride scheme is being run by Lewisham Council's road safety team in partnership with police and firefighters who have been trained to teach the courses.
Youngsters aged over nine took part in basic courses at Downham Fire Station in Reigate Road this month.
Next month more courses will be held aiming to get adults cycling safely.
To book a place on the next Safe Ride course, call the council's road safety team on 020 8314 2254 or email roadsafetyeducation@lewisham.gov.uk
