A DESIGN student beat 4,000 other hopefuls to win £1,000.
Goldsmiths student Jayne Potter, who graduates in July this year, won the New Designers Metropolitan Works Award for her final year project Eat Me Drink Me.
As part of the project, based on the idea of remorse, Miss Potter produced two vases.
The 23-year-old, of Shardeloes Road, New Cross, was chosen after impressing judges with her work when it was showcased at an exhibition at the Islington Business Centre in July.
The awards, which have been running for 24 years, were established by digital manufacturers Metropolitan Works to encourage design students to promote their talents to industry.
Miss Potter, who studied design at the university for four years, said: "Winning has allowed me to be able to extend my project and make it commercially viable."
