CLEANING up is not a traditional pastime for children during their summer holidays.
But youngsters who live in Calverley Close, Beckenham, did just that when they tidied up their estate.
The clean-up was dreamed up by the estate owner English Churches Housing Group to give them something positive to do.
The group's service delivery officer, Edwina Campbell, said: "Left to their own devices children can quickly become bored and restless, and may even become a nuisance to other tenants.
"This was something they could be proud of. They made some encouraging comments such as I'd like it to be clean-up day every Tuesday'."
The children were rewarded with ice cream and a bouncy castle after the clean-up.
