SPORTS, arts and drama groups for young people could claim up to £3,000 in grants to help them with their work.
The cash is being made available in the autumn by the Jack Petchey Foundation, founded by East End property developer Jack Petchey in 1999, to give cash to schemes which benefit young people aged 11 to 25-years-old.
The foundation, which has previously operated in East London and Essex, is now moving into south east London with its achievement award scheme.
This recognises the individual achievements of young group members by rewarding the group.
Bexley Council has organised a series of seminars at Erith Leisure Centre, Avenue Road, Erith, on September 5, where representatives of borough youth groups can learn more about the awards scheme.
