HUNDREDS of young Londoners have been recognised for their volunteer work at museums.
Over the last 18 months people aged 14 to 24 have been helping museums with exhibitions and events as part of The London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme.
It is designed to give everyone in the UK a chance to be part of London 2012 and inspire creativity.
The Horniman Museum, in London Road, Forest Hill, has 58 long-term volunteers and Greenwich Heritage Centre, in Artillery Square, Woolwich, has 76.
Elvis Teague, age 17, who volunteers at the Horniman Museum, said “It's been really fun. I've gotten to know loads of new people and made good friends.
“I want to do a photography degree and this is a great thing to go on my CV."
