MARTIAL arts experts got youngsters to try out a different sport at a new £4.5m judo centre.
Dartford Judo Club ran an open day for young people wanting to try out the sport.
It was held at its state-of-the-art home in Cotton Lane, Dartford, which opened in March.
The event lasted for five hours and was aimed at children aged between four and 15-years-old.
More than 40 youngsters turned up to watch displays and take part in taster sessions.
Head coach Alan Roberts was pleased with the response to the day and hopes it will encourage youngsters to get off the streets and take up judo.
He said: "We want to reach out to the community, and introduce as many youngsters and teenagers as possible to our sport."
