THE final part of a £2m scheme to upgrade school sports facilities has been completed.
A new floodlit synthetic pitch at Trinity School, Erith Road, Belvedere, which was opened by former Great Britain hockey team goalkeeper Hilary Rose at the end of the summer term, brings the number of projects financed by the Big Lottery Fund to five.
Other floodlit pitches have been created at Westwood College, Welling; Woodside School, Belvedere, and Hurstmere School, Sidcup.
Cash has also gone towards a new hydrotherapy pool at Marlborough School, Sidcup.
All the facilities are available for hire by community groups outside of school hours by contacting the schools concerned.
Trinity School is already taking bookings from September onwards.
The facilities are also being used for summer holiday activities.
