A POLICE raid at the home of a former drug smuggler unearthed around £8,000 of cocaine.
British Transport Police found 114g of the drug during a raid of the home of Paul Wells, of Bedford Road, Orpington.
Wells, aged 42, admitted a charge of possession of cocaine with intent to supply at Croydon Crown Court on August 10.
Police officers involved in Operation Shuttle, which was investigating reports of criminal damage, went to Wells' home in the early morning of June 27.
Wells has 33 previous convictions and was given a nine-and-a-half year sentence at Canterbury Crown Court in June 1996 for smuggling Class A drugs into the country.
Alexander Krikler, mitigating, said Wells owed £1,000 to a drug dealer who offered to take £100 off the debt if he looked after some cocaine for him overnight.
Wells was sentenced to four years in jail.
