SCRUM DOWN: The junior section of Vigo Rugby Club held a festival involving 16 junior schools. The winner was Vigo School, who went on to the county finals. ALLOTMENT WINNERS: Allotment holders went head-to-head to compete for awards. Seven people were crowned winners at Meopham Allotments. Prizes given out included first, second and third for the best-kept allotment and three highly-commended certificates. An overall award was given for the most-improved allotment.
CLOSED TEMPORARILY: Gravesham Council's civic centre reception in Windmill Street has closed until January next year. Reception facilities will be available at Cygnet House, Windmill Street, during this period. The Woodville Halls Theatre is closed until December 16. Both areas are shut for building work.
ON THE STAGE: Meopham Players will stage a production written by Meopham author and playwright Terry Fairhead. Entitled Change of Life, it has a cast of six actors. The play will be performed on October 26, October 27 and October 28. It will be directed by Brenda Ogden.
