A PENSIONER has died after being hit by a van as he cycled along a street.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened on Halfway Street, Sidcup, near the junction with Burnt Oak Lane.
It occurred just before midnight on July 27.
The driver of a white Vauxhall Combo van stopped at the scene and gave his details to the police. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Barry Sykes, 66, from Welling, was taken to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. He died eight days later.
A post-mortem examination on August 8 revealed as well as multiple injuries caused by the accident, he had also died from a pulmonary embolism - a clot in an artery in the lungs - and deep vein thrombosis - a blood clot.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident, which happened at 11.50pm, to call the collision investigation unit on 020 2825 1574.
