TWELVE people have cleared greenery as part of National Allotments Week.
Workers from Envirowork Lewisham tidied up six allotments in Deptford on Monday.
They removed brambles and rubbish from the site during National Allotments Week.
The week promotes the awareness of allotments in the community.
Envirowork is a non-profit organisation which trains unemployed 18 to 24-year-olds in horticulture skills.
They can obtain Institute of Groundsmenship Certificates or an NVQ in horticulture.
Envirowork project coordinator Jeanette Stuart-Macdonald said: "It was good to help the community by clearing the allotments up.
"National Allotments Week is a good campaign for the people of Lewisham and good for the people we train."
