A COMMUNITY festival left visitors high and not very dry as bad weather forced organisers to cancel.
The fourth Longfield Summer Festival was set to be held in Longfield Community Park, Fawkham Road, but was called off by organisers who had reservations about using electrical equipment in wet conditions.
There were also fears the wet ground would be ruined by cars and many people would not turn up with such bad weather.
Attractions lined up for the festival included a bird of prey show, performances from the Northfleet Brass Band and a mountain bike display.
Parish council clerk Teresa Taylor, 59, of Worcester Close, Istead Rise, helped organise the event.
She said: "I doubt if we will be able to re-schedule for this year because of the short notice we now have to book acts. Some were booked as early as November last year.
"I think we will have to cut our losses and hope for better weather next year."
