ROAD SAFETY: Transport bosses are improving safety in Plumstead High Street, Greenwich, following 81 road accidents in past three years, seven of which were serious. The improvements form part of a £600,000 Transport for London package and will include a raised pelican crossing, new road markings and electronic "slow down" signs.
FUN DAY: A free fun day is being held in the Ferrier estate on Saturday. The event is taking place in Telemann Square, Kidbrooke, from noon to 6pm and has been organised by the Blackheath and Ferrier Housing Panel, Greenwich Council and partners. Call 020 8921 5585.
UNDER REVIEW: Greenwich Council is carrying out a review of the licence granted to Royal Standard pub, Stratheden Road, Blackheath, after a request from a resident. It will report to the licensing committee on September 7.
