A PENSIONER better known for his community and environmental activities, has now added high-rise adventure to his CV.
John Livingston, 70, is the former chairman of Belvedere Community Forum and a prominent member Belvedere and Districts Against Incinerator Risks.
But the recent death from breast cancer of his daughter-in-law Janet spurred him on to do a sponsored abseil down a 120ft tower.
The event took place at the Castle Climbing Centre in Stoke Newington just a few days before Mr Livingston's 70th birthday.
His daughter-in-law, who leaves three young children, did a similar abseil for Macmillan Cancer Support while in remission from the disease.
Mr Livingston, of Milton Road, Belvedere, has already raised more than £150 and anyone else wishing to donate, can call him on 01322 440539.
He said: "I am very glad to have done it."
