A Kent County Council community warden has made a daring tandem parachute jump to help raise money for the local communities she looks after.
Mandy Cason, community warden for Vigo, Meopham and Culverstone, jumped with local resident Heather Taylor and together they have raised almost £500.
Mandy said: "I was absolutely terrified! I am afraid of heights and the plane was going higher and higher; then when I jumped I couldn't breathe. We were told to scream as we jumped and I had completely frozen so my tandem partner reminded me - after that it was really wicked!
"We are trying to raise money for a new ball court and a venue for young people in the local areas to try and keep them off the streets."
Cabinet member for communities Mike Hill said: "I am very proud of our excellent team of KCC wardens. This is a wonderful example of their commitment to the local community - well done Mandy."
Anyone wishing to make a donation towards a new youth venue should send it to Vigo Parish Office, Vigo Village Hall, The Bay, Vigo, Gravesend, DA13 0TD or call Mandy Cason on 07977 981931.
