A GROUP of secondary school pupils who have achieved junior sports leader status have been putting their new-found skills into practice.
Eleven students at Trinity School in Erith Road, Belvedere, organised an end-of-term mini Olympics-style sports event for about 120 primary school children aged between seven and nine years.
The students, Danny Blakemore, Martin Ryan, Laura Barber, Ryan Kelly-Briggs, Luis Rice, Scott Jones, Nathan Morse, Ben Sparkes, Louise Thompson, Loretta Davison and Terry James put together an afternoon of sporting activities for the children who came from nearby Bedonwell, Lessness Heath, Brampton and Christ Church junior schools.
The event enabled the students to put into practice their junior sports leader awards and they took charge of every aspect of the event, from sponsorship to sorting out the rules for each of the games.
