A 31-YEAR-OLD prison officer has been jailed for 12 months after having a relationship with the 18-year-old killer of a teenage boy.
Emma Beard, from Feltham, had the affair with Danny McLean, from Thornton Heath, who stabbed love rival Shakilus Townsend to death in Tanners Hill, Deptford, in July 2008.
The married mother-of-four, was found guilty on November 4 of misconduct in a public office after engaging in a sexual relationship with a serving inmate at Feltham Young Offenders Insitution where she worked.
Beard was sentenced today at Isleworth Crown Court.
McLean, along with other members of the Shine My Nine gang and his girlfriend, was convicted of the murder last year.
He was sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison.
