A TOWN centre parking shop has opened to enable residents to buy parking permits and pay fines.
The shop has moved to Rennell Street in Lewisham town centre from Lee High Road, New Cross.
Lewisham Council made the move after criticism about long queues and poor access to the old parking shop.
The new one has four counters, sells residential and business parking permits, has facilities for people to pay fines and offers advice about how to appeal a fine.
It has been launched as part of Lewisham Council's new five-year parking enforcement contract with partner National Car Parks.
It is open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Wednesday and on Fridays, from 7am to 8pm on Thursdays and 8.30am to 6.30pm on Saturdays.
